The Estate
Built of stone from its own land.
Three houses on the cliffs, fifty metres (about 165 feet) above the sea.
In the quiet Dikastika settlement at Schinias, three stone houses share one pool courtyard on the cliffs above the bay. The stone was quarried from the land they stand on; inside are antiques and hand-crafted wooden and iron furniture, and the Aegean in almost every window.

The Estate Plan
The estate that draws itself.
Walls first, then the three houses; the pool fills last.
Three houses stand around one pool courtyard, a plan no single photograph can show. Hover or tap a wing to see who sleeps where, then step inside.
Drawn from the aerial survey of the property.
The Three Houses
Three front doors, one courtyard.
Together for the long table, apart when the day calls for quiet.
You will all want to be ‘King’ of this castle.

Life Here
Days around the courtyard.
Two kitchens, one long table, and the BBQ going since noon.
The covered BBQ has its own sink, a charcoal grill and a spit; a lift runs from street level to the pool courtyard; and the covered veranda keeps its teak table in the shade, with the bay below.

The Setting
Park, bay, battlefield.
One hour from Athens, twenty-five centuries from everywhere.
Schinias National Park: 2 km (1.2 mi)
A Natura 2000 wetland whose rare umbrella pines run to the water's edge, with more than 200 bird species, and the long, sandy, shallow beach beside it.
Olympic Rowing Centre: 5.5 km (3.4 mi)
Built for the 2004 Games and still one of only three World Rowing–approved training centres in the world, at the edge of the park.
The Plain of Marathon: 490 BC
The Persian fleet entered the bay of Marathon in 490 BC; the run that carried the news to Athens has named every marathon since.
