The Kitchen

The first of the two kitchens.

Stocked to cook for the whole table, spices and basics already in the cupboards.

The kitchen's far side: the steel fridge-freezer with ice dispenser beside glass-front cabinets, the antique pine dresser of green and yellow crockery under the stone arch
THE DRESSER, UNDER THE ARCH

Set for a houseful

Hand-me-down pine dressers and a modern cold chain side by side, the estate’s way: antiques where it counts, appliances where it matters.

Sofas for the whole party beneath the arches, satellite TV with DVD for slow evenings, and lanterns and antiques in every niche, furniture hand-crafted in wood and iron, as the house was.

THE HALL, ARCH OPENING INTO ARCH

Built of stone quarried from its own land, every arch in this room came out of the hillside it stands on.
