The South Wing

The sociable house of the estate.

Kitchen, dining hall and lounge, and the sea past every shutter.

Of the three houses around the pool courtyard, the South Wing is where the days gather: one of the estate’s two full kitchens, a dining room under its stone arches, a living room and lounge, and four bedrooms, three of them air-conditioned, the fourth opening off the corridor with its own connecting door through to the master. Five guests sleep in comfort, up to eleven in company.

The master bedroom of the South Wing: an iron double bed beneath the timber ceiling, the balcony door open to the sea and the bathroom beyond
THE MASTER, ITS DOOR OPEN TO THE BALCONY

The master bedroom

A double bed under the timber roof, air-conditioned, with its bathroom beside it and a balcony door that opens straight onto the sea.

The South Wing's fourth bedroom, off the corridor with a connecting door to the master: fitted wardrobes along one wall and two sofa beds beneath the stone arch
THE FOURTH BEDROOM · TWO SOFA BEDS

The fourth bedroom

Once the master’s dressing room, now a bedroom of its own with a door off the corridor and a second through to the master: two sofa beds beneath the arch, a roll-away drawn out when the whole party comes, sleeping up to three.

The Bedrooms

Two more rooms under the rafters.

A double in stone arches; a single with a roll-away beneath.

Bedroom two of the South Wing: an iron-framed double bed, a stone-arched shuttered window and a tall timber wardrobe
BEDROOM TWO · A DOUBLE, AIR-CONDITIONED

Bedroom two

A double bed, air-conditioned, its window set in a carved stone arch, the wardrobe in timber, the morning over the roofs.

Bedroom three with its single day bed and the roll-away bed drawn out beside it, under arched wall niches
BEDROOM THREE · SINGLE AND ROLL-AWAY

Bedroom three

A single with a roll-away stored beneath it, air-conditioned, one sleeps in quiet, two fit when the house is full. See the full capacity plan →

The covered balcony of the South Wing: a stone parapet and iron railings above the courtyard, looking down the coast and across the open sea
THE COVERED BALCONY, OVER THE SEA

Balconies and terraces step around the wing, sun on one side, shade on the other, the water past every railing.

The house is big, comfortable and very clean.

Kitchen & Dining

A kitchen of its own, a hall of arches.

One of the estate’s two kitchens, and the long table it serves.

The South Wing kitchen under its timber ceiling: cooker and oven beneath the chimney hood, tiled worktops and the sink by the shuttered window
THE SOUTH WING KITCHEN

A full kitchen

Cooker and oven, a large fridge-freezer, microwave, dishwasher, coffee maker, kettle, toaster and mixer, with cookware in depth, and spices and basics already in the cupboards.

The dining room of the South Wing: a long timber table with rattan armchairs beneath an iron chandelier, two arched windows in the stone wall
THE DINING ROOM, UNDER THE CHANDELIER

The dining room

The long table gathers the wing beneath an iron chandelier, between arches built of the stone this land gave up.

The dining hall seen through the great stone arch: the long table and rattan chairs at its centre, a ship painting on the far wall
THE DINING HALL, THROUGH THE GREAT ARCH

Antiques and hand-crafted wooden and iron furniture, in rooms walled by the estate’s own stone.

Living Room & Lounge

White sofas, red chairs, one fire.

And in the lounge, a sofa that becomes the tenth bed.

The living room of the South Wing: two white sofas under the timber-beamed ceiling, the red armchairs of the fireside room through the stone arch
THE LIVING ROOM, THROUGH THE ARCH

The living room

White sofas on one side of the arch; red armchairs, the fireplace and the television on the other, satellite TV with DVD for the slow evenings.

White sofas around the glass table in the lounge, the balcony door open between two windows that hold the sea
THE LOUNGE, ITS DOOR TO THE BALCONY

The lounge

The wing’s softer corner, deep sofas, the balcony door, the bay below the railings. Its sofa converts to a double, the last two of the wing’s ten.
